Childhood

Childhood

Life was so simple when I was five, sleeping, eating and playing
How many sweets my spends would buy being my only worry
How precious those times were and how quickly they're gone
Always wanting to be a year older, really what was the hurry

Adulthood comes soon enough, to a child it seems out of reach
Wishing my life away, instead of making the most of the day
Playing in the rain was as daring as it got
Wish I could go back in time and that's where I 'd stay

Protected from worry, responsibility and pain
Why does growing old speed up the older you get
Youth is a short lived asset we all take for granted
Childhood brings freedom you never forget
