Poem -

China Doll

China Doll

Poor little China doll too
pretty to be real.

So pretty on the outside, but so
cracked  inside.

You have to be perfect. You
must never fail.

Every girl wants to be you and
every boy wants to be with you.

The most popular girl, but you
are always so lonely.

So pretty on the outside, but so
cracked inside.

Poor little China doll too
pretty to be real.

Always smiling and laughing,
but you must never let them
see you cry.

Poor little China doll too
pretty to be real.

So pretty on the outside, but so
cracked inside.

With grades so high and
with self-esteem so low.

You have to be perfect. You
must never fail.

Poor little China doll too
pretty to be real.

No one knows how you feel
until you break.

So pretty on the outside, but so
cracked inside.

Very true, Tacara.....People may be judged on the outside as perfect, but there is a lot going on inside that cannot be seen.  Pressures of life and image take a tole.....Great portrayal and metaphor comparing the beautiful popular girls as china dolls.  xo

I find the term , " China doll " to be a bit offensive, in my heart I know it's not intention , if spoken in general without targeting a particular race, maybe the title could of read , "Beauty"

I was not targeting anyone but I was talking about a specific type of person are easily broken like "china" we call dishes china. I would never target specific race of people. Thank you for your comment. ❤👌👍
