Chiseled Stone

Chiseled Stone

Battles waged on foreign shore
Brave serviceman tis no more
Young adventuresome lad
Relinquished valor all he had

Engraved script, chiseled track
Humble words on ebon plaque
β€œHere he lay, this noble knave
Honorable tis life he gave”

Danced on edge of sword
Freedom tis utmost reward
Somber elegy, cast in stone
Soldier's name unknown

Tattered flag proudly wave
Β Lofty wafts upon a grave
Glorify red, white and blue
Call of duty heroes pursue.
