CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM

CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM

I thought I'd bring a chocolate ice cream around,
watched you eat every single drop without a sound,
curled your lips and wriggled your hips in delight,
my reputation and persona risen to a new height.

I thought I'd weave my way into your heart,
don't really eat much since we've been apart,
surely one of us should get their just deserts,
probably me halted forever where it hurts.

Next time I'll try a baked alaska, I'll ask her
if that might be good enough to conquer,
a bruised heart needs a great lubricant,
If I ever wish to be a future resident.

I thought I'd do anything that it might take,
If I knew you were coming I'd have baked a cake.
