Choose Wisely

You're searching.. searching for what? You're not really sure. A person who meets the criteria of a list you can't ignore. They've gotta be cute, they've gotta be smart, they've gotta have money.. but no one is that perfect match so unknowingly you tend to look at them all funny. Relationships are meant to be built, no perfect person is put upon you.. they seem one way then they change from what you were drawn to. You know not what the future holds for the one you put aside, they may one day be exactly what you wanted but your pride wouldn't let it slide. No one wants to grow with someone, they want them perfect from the start but why do you deserve perfection when you're shallow in your heart? At what age will you understand that what you see is not always right, with time you will see when what I speak comes to light. By then it's too late, your future lies with another, "if it's meant to be it will be" but they'll never look back to you, not after everything you have put them through. Forgive but don't forget haunts your past, "I love you" then they're gone has your present in a grasp. How do you forgive someone knowing the future outweighs them currently, when they treat you as nothing, as if no one wants your company? That's not love, in no way shape or form, love yourself, learning of how loving another in this age you can be scorned. There they go, some time later.. perfected, now you look at the person you chose & the situation has to be dealt with. This "perfect" person who has many flaws that I had not foreseen or grovel to the person who's "perfection" was worked for because of me? Would they not be perfect had I not put them down, because they weren't my desire? Or had I been too impatient to just wait & see the sparks that may have made our fire?
