Poem -

a christmas day dance

fear has grabbed my mouth and tongue
and now some fooI I have  become
words are silent but my lips still move
so to drink I turn my nerves to soothe

with glass in hand I still stand there
and look at her in some doting stare
i surely must seem to be quite mad
and now become this fool most sad

but she looks and with a gentle smile
she holds my hand and doth beguile
whispers :"I am waiting for you to say,
dance with me this Christmas Day"
