The City's Lair

Over there in the city's lair, it's home to juvenile delinquent stares,
The crooked pavements swallow souls,
They roam the streets like packs of wild wolves, never alone,
The future children are set in stone.
They're walking and talking just like me and you,
But they have a wicked plan they intend to persue,
They don't care for despair, they're from the city's lair.
They don't pity the city like me and you,
We find it gritty, but they're fond of dark humour and they find it witty,
A soul will lose it's way, then they will come out and pounce on their prey.
They're walking and talking just like me and you,
But they have a wicked plan they intend to persue,
They don't care for despair, they're from the city's lair.
Make me believe in the web of life we weave,
And relieve me of this urban nightmare,
And take me somewhere far away,
Into a sunset over yonder,
A postcard picture makes the heart grow fonder.
