Clever country cat

Misty the smokey, grey country cat
Narrow eyes of emerald green
He undoubtedly was the most cheekiest that
The farmers wife had ever seen

After her and her hard working husband
Had ate a hearty tea
Misty crawled through the open window
As sneakily as can be

Tho nobody noticed him
They knew he had been in
The beef brisket on the bench
Had deminished so very thin

Well Mrs Green was furious
She wasn’t having that
She shut all her doors & windows
“Good riddens to you greedy cat”?

Whilst Mr & Mrs Green was asleep
In the twighlight of the night
Cunning cat clambered on the roof
Lifting up the sky light

Jumping on his all fours
As quiet as a mouse
He put his jaws around some bacon
Then he scat from out the house

Mrs Green woke up early
Her hubby lay in coz he was able
She went to prepare the breakfast
There was no bacon on the table

“Well wo is me I’m dunderhead”
Poor Gracey Green did say
“I could of sworn I’d bought
Streaky bacon from the butchers tuther day”

Then all at once she noticed the
Sky light ajar
I bet that scraggy mongrel 
Has been in again, he won’t be far

So she quickly wrapped her dressing gown
Hurrying out the kitchen door
She grabbed her husbands gun
That thief of a cat would live no more

Luckily for that feline
He was many miles away
I heard Gracey took a shine to him
Now he visits them everyday?
