Clockwork

Clockwork

Sprockets, cogs, and tiny screws. – Working in coordinated coherence.
Mechanical, melodic, rhythmic communication. – Conditional, with hidden variables.

You know, people work in exactly the same way.
Interlocking parts in constant, yet chaotic, parabolic motion.
Filled with full-on feelings, knuckleless thoughts, and implicit tell-tale emotions.
With ease do others intrude!

In respect we could assume;

That locked together we grind each other, bare teeth, wind up - to spin out of control.
Throw a spanner to observe as they jam up and falter - through no obvious fault of their own.
Like machines, sparks fly, belts wear too thinly for gears to rumble and groan.
But alas, in being one of the many – connected they are alone.

Somewhat.

See, there`s chaos in how the pendulum swings. – As I watch it arc back and forth.
Seasons change, but the clockwork remains. And still, time runs its course.
Like a camel's back can be broken, when you add "just one more" straw.
In peace, they call it nurturing, in quarrels they call it war.

So forgive me for I amΒ stuck.Β

Trapped within grandfather's gaze.
I’m fixated on the timelessness of its synchronous symphony.
Sadly, lost in such a state.

I’m sorry.

Hey Max! How are you.
and after reading your latest on display I believe we are all cogs in the great schematic machine of things.
For each little cog is capable of independent thought and proven in their actions or even interactions with others, many good and positive actions and some not so good and the predictable chaos ensues.
That domino effect that nobody wishes to confront head on, to witness or to painfully endure, but is fatefully swept up in.

Β And some cogs of course will be greater than others, but at the end of the day, regardless of size, they will eventually and inevitably cease to be.
C'est la vie.
Β
Another blistering food for thought write and glad you have returned of late, myself included on that score.
Kudos to you Max and hope all is well with you.
Your friend, Shaun.

Hi Shaun!! Good! and you?! I agree, in some aspects, humanity shows the entire spectrum of human nature. If that makes sense? We can't hide our ugliness, yet in some aspects, we can connect over the beauty of a few. It's an interesting concept indeed.

Either way, I guess I wanted to say to you and all my pen friends, that I'm sorry for leaving without an explanation. I guess I just fell out of love with poetry, got into the thinking that I'm weak for sharing my views. Yikes. But without it, eh, I haven't really felt the same.

As always thanks much for your support Shaun. Sincerely, its good to be back, for however long that may be~

Now read more time than I care to recount .. back on back .. and each time, liked even more, than the time before it ..
indeed, each time, something new is found to examine and enjoy ..
if I don't quit soon though, it will be time to shut up shop or remain a slave to the hunger I found here ..

Peace & All Good Things my Friend & give my regards to your pen :)

Thank you so much Neville for your kind words. This one was forged not crafted. It took months for me to get the rhythm the way I liked it. In the end I thought it fell on deaf ears. So I'm glad you liked the read!

Peace and smiles to you my friend. Keep on writing you're fantastic poetry. It inspires me to come to Cosmo more often. πŸ™‚
