Coat of Colors

Coat of Colors

Verity Shuttleworth 10/06/2017

Rugged as a coastline hard rocks tumbling to shore
They hide their jagged edges under colored layers, bark surrounding gnarled bough, of the most hidden treasures among hidden trees

Galaxies collided in some far away place, bringing me and you together well the sparks flew
Like the brightest star twinkling in a black night
With your love you gave me wings soaring in the open skies.

Under your coat of colors, I saw theirs no love
Only memories of pain, under your coat of colors, It was devious and dark
But I saw through, I saw through
You gave me something new, I found you
