Cody’s Cousin Cody

My Cody has a cousin, whose name is Cody too;

We were supposed to go on a vacation, so they could meet, but now we’re blue!

For our Cody has a sore leg, and cannot travel far;

We are afraid to take this long trip, two thousand miles afar!

So we had to write my cousin, that Cody’s mommy named Marlene;

And say we could not make it, for our Cody, sick has been!

She wrote back a lovely letter, that said she understood;

For her Cody too is aging, and sometimes not so good!

Then last night we heard our phone ring, it was Marlene calling with her love;

We talked about our Cody’s, and how they were angels from above!

We vowed to get together, when they return to winter stay;

Then we’ll go down there and see them, for they’re only four hours away!

She made us all much better, for we were feeling kind of sad;

At having to cancel their first meeting, and other plans we had!

So now we’re looking forward to December, when both of them will meet;

Our Cody’s will finally see each other, and kiss each other when they greet!
