Cold Case(Death at 7-seas)

Cold Case (#1)
In this box, all you see, is all I have,
A life not chosen by me.
I was an average man a wife and (2) kids,
(2) Cars and a house by the sea.
When spring came around,
We were vacation bound,
Different towns are where we would be.
Everybody knew our names and we the same,
In a town with no enemies.
Yet one day a float, I set sail on my boat,
A day that I would come to regret.
I met this young man, whom became my deck hand,
And only because he boast of being a vet.
We docked at this port, an old boardwalk, of some sort,
As the waves became choppy and white.
A storm was a brew, the darkness how it grew,
So we anchored to stay for the night.
It must have been around (8); it was getting real late,
My deck hand had buttoned down all but one hatch.
At the time I turned in, you could hear the strong wind
As the sea became cold and quite patched.
Around a quarter to (12), the engine I heard rev,
And the boat, once again set on course.
I rose to my feet, yet still half asleep,
Boat swaying, due to wind turbulent forces.
I called for this man, my new, boat deck hand,
But my response by he was one of ignorance.
So I called him by name, the one he had claimed
Given he to me, by Lawrence. All of a sudden
I felt pain, what ran wet, was not rain,
As I stumbled and fell victim to the floor.
At that instance I passed out, no time
Left me to shout, what I felt was my throat
As it had torn. As I turned and fell away,
I could hear this vigilant man say,
“In a little while, your boat will be, not yours, but mine.”
Strangers, you don’t trust, as the wind ferociously gust,
They’ll take, what they want, time after time.
As I lay there near death, thinking dearly of poor Beth,
And my kids, whom I’ll never see and left suddenly behind,
My last breath now I take, no longer able, to stay awake
Thinking how anyone, can be so cruel, to another mankind.
Now I rest here today, in a box now named Nate,
Yes it’s my belongings for sure but body, is what
They’ve unfortunately, have failed now to find.
And Beth and my kids, no not my body, what was did,
Just another victim, of a senseless murder, another crime.

jimmy i love this, beside's being one of my favourite programme's you just took me into an episode of one the tense waiting to see if he or she can be found and the sadness mixed with relief at the end if they were found a story told through the victim tina x
Tina/Chris,
Appreciate you both and Tina i too love that show and just as a kid in a candy store , set willingly and with passion, for it when it comes on, like the notion of justice for the victim in the end and how they,(the victim) shows their appreciation and the opportunity to witness the crime being solved, on their behalf, at the shows end, breathing (new life) in the sad wake of their (demise). (Sir) Chris, you have mastered this site as though a pilot with his own plane and flight course, that has been here since day one and with it, you bring vibrant new skills to this site adding new flavors and births of rejuvenating interest to poetry, and this we commend you for whole heartedly...Thanks to you both....
