Cold Stone Rock

Cold Stone Rock

She sees things through a thick gray haze

she's drowning in feelings of malaise

she tries to swim up to the surface

trying to find in her a heart a meaningful purpose

she lets herself drown even though she could save herself

as she sinks down further every time someone tried to help

she hides her heart and detaches herself from emotion

as she lets the current pull her farther into a depressing ocean
