The trauma of seeing you lying there
Causes overwhelming sadness and despair
Not being able to help you in any way
Fills this stricken heart with utter dismay.

That this will be the desperately awaited day
When you awake to those in vigil at your bed
Please. please acknowledge what is said.

So many times I have asked as to why
You should be in this place and didn't die
Perhaps it will be soon that all will be made clear
Perhaps soon your recovery will banish all fear.

If there is one horror greater than losing someone dear because of death, it is to see a loved one dead in life without the possibility of recovery, in that trance we have just join hands and still not being believers to pray that recovers or so definitely death take him.
When a person is in a coma for a long time it causes great suffering and grief is eternal. A greeting, a very sad poem, but sadly very real.
Personally faced this type of situation, I think the best thing to do is to legislate the right to die with a euthanasia law, free-form people could decide through a living will.
