Come Home
Hey girl
I can see you now
You're there girl, standing in the dark
Can you hear me through the rain
And the pain, and what remains are left after they've torn your soul to shreds?
I love you girl
I can see the tear left its track underneath your black eye and the scar on your head and the filth in the bed where they left you for dead.
Don't be afraid girl,
I can see how they lured you inside and you wanted to hide and all of the times when they cast you aside but you've kept hold of your pride.
Come give me your hand girl
Take off the mask and the hood and the blood, that drips cold from the wounds that don't heal. Where there was once a heart but they tore it apart with their claws and their teeth and their steel toe cap boots, behind the door where you once lay your head.
They've all gone away girl.
Come home.

Wow! I have to say, this is one of the hardest hitting poems I have ever read. There is outstanding use of rhyme and meter in this. I am awestruck. I think it is brilliant x
Thank you. I'm glad you liked it.
