Come to me poetry
In these strange times
Conjure a laugh
With your casual rhymes

Speak to me poetry
Whisper to my dreams
And make this life
Less hard than it seems

Come to me poetry
And release this frown
Light up my soul
While I’m feeling so down

Speak to me poetry
Be the Angel on my shoulder
Inspire me with wisdom
As I get older

Come to me poetry
And sing to my tears
Let me write of the echoes
Of my childhood years

Speak to me Poetry
Of the family I knew
Now they’ve followed the Angels
Let them listen too
