Dream of an Angel
An angel came to me in a dream
Warm and golden from the sky,
But was it really what it seemed?
To seek me out, I wonder why
 -
I tried to remember what she said to me
To just try and understand,
Alas her words were out of reach
An angelic sleight of hand
 -
Was it eating cheese before I slept?
That’s the truth I’d surely find,
Did it open some old memories kept?
A fromage of the mind
 -
As I walked among the headstones
To find the solace that this would bring,
A Robin flew down from its leafy home
And sang to announce the spring
 -
Such a presence of warmth behind me
So I turned, but no one was there
The Robin was no longer singing,
But In its beak, a long golden hair.

Haha oh man I wasn't expecting this line as I read through!! Truly, its these additions that bring a sense of connection for me as a reader.
