Agitated, urgent, brusque, movements around and above me.
Muted roaring in my ears… my brain confused and all logic indistinct.
There are lights around me and hands holding mine….
so much pain….waves of insane pain taking what little breath I have, clean away.
Hands moving me, touching me, quickly.
Voices talking, urgently, I feel hands stroking my head,
whispering ‘it’s ok hun, it’s okay’
what’s ok? Why are you saying that?
Pain numbing my senses……….lights so bright, too bright…
Suddenly… the pain is gone…..
There is silence….
I see my hands…I feel them…. I am laying on the grass
My feel my hands fumbling through the crisp, green blades
and letting them slip through my fingers.
I can smell, so vividly, the earthy peat of the flower beds where the pastel pink camellias
are gently shaking their petals in the soft fragrant air.
I see the blueberries, dripping from the bushes, ripe and bountiful ,
waiting to release their delicious juices with every greedy mouthful taken.
I hear the velvet bees leisurely fulfilling their role and I know with absolute certainty
that finally I have fulfilled mine – here amidst this little piece of heaven I created with love,
is where I will close my eyes forever , without regret and will remain- the cycle complete

Hi Lodigiana, I read this first thing today and it filled me with a quiet tranquility and acceptance...beautifully written and pinned to re read when I need some calm, Thank you .
Hi Steviec thanks for this - always good to see a comment..not sure whats going on today there seems some discord in the site and people voting but not commenting...I am a bit puzzled. I also belong to another poetry site so might concentrate there for a while but really value your constant input! thank you so much

My Dear lodigiana,
So sorry I'm a little late with this comment, but I found your poem mixed in with some of my own. So, I'm giving you this Tanka in response.
Life has its cycles
We look up to the bright stars
To solve its riddles
Each day we ponder our fate
On our last we accept it
Hugs, Peace and Love,

you are so clever Larry!! I have never actually tried a Tanka ...but you did a great job sir!!! I am now encouraged to maybe try one..although I suspect It will take rather more trying than usual to accomplish one but it's good to attempt new things. Thank you dear friend for commenting through your lovely work- much appreciated.

My Dear lodigiana,
Thank you for your lovely compliment. You might want to try starting out with Haikus, which are three lines of exactly five, then seven, then five syllables. You can title them if you wish, and try to have some sort of theme. If you need any help please feel free to send me a private message.
