Confused cold awakening

Confused cold awakening

My eyes peel open expecting sun,
Can I continue to lie?
Or is there work to be done?
Hopeful light is fighting to rise,
I blink, see blur, but little light is upon.
Unenviable cold, suns day yet become.
Moon still stands bold in the sky.
Battle of morn creates perpetual beauty.
The mist confuses you, did you wake up unduly?
Pastel colours sweep the view through your window.
The warmth of your lover makes you curl up and rest,
In the final minutes you embrace into your chest.
Alarm, awful sound, technology dictates,
Aberrant work, it’s habitual to now wake.
