COOKING FOR CHILDREN

(tribute to domestic science)

COOKING FOR CHILDREN

You have to learn somewhere, may as well be at school,
although some may not want to, like a stubborn mule;
the sound of chopping made the wall whiteboard shake,
perhaps it was all just too much making a tuna bake.

They even wore some small white hats on their heads,
bits on the floor, seemed to be lots of greens and reds;
what happens to all these dishes, take home in backpack,
there was enough to feed them for dinner, John, Jane and Jack.

Small hands should be careful of knives and not being burned,
however, it was good amongst subjects, all the things they'd learned;
they could do a GCSE - general certificate in scrambled egg,
maybe after chicken, when it was all done, on the last leg.

All this experience was good in later life, being so clever,
one day the therapist asked: 'Have you ever made a salad together?'
