Cor Blimey!

Artwork by Me and S Bolshaw.

Cor Blimey!

Cor blimey!
How times flies
50s, 60s, 70s
Flash before your eyes
Back then things seemed a bit more cheery
The papers weren’t scaring us
People weren’t so greedy
80’s and 90’s
What a time to be alive
Cor blimey!
How times flies
2000’s came along
We raved the whole decade through
Not a care in the world
You were just being you
Cor blimey!
How times flies
When the people stop smilin’
That’s when the love dies

Yes, I noticed the same - the years seem to gather speed the older you get and it is getting harder to keep up - in my mind I still am at the late 70's early 80's (not a good time for me) and I wake up in these days now (finally a good time to be). Love the rythm and speed of the text. For me, I am glad to say that not all the love died, but for the world: yes, I made it much smaller for me by keeping out as much of the news I can - so, yeah, the right ending (as an accountant I have quite a few clients who feld the wars in  Afhganistan and Syria - and both the parents of my wife and mine got caught up in WW II in quite some bad ways - so I never had much love for the Big World. Hanx for sharing
