Corrosive Love

Corrosive Love

Who knew love could be this corrosive?
An intake of your insipid haze left me dazed and confused
Bruised
Overused heart
lay broken in parts
Your love rests like shards of brittle bones I must pluck out
Like a fish being filleted
I’ll clean myself of doubt
Until eventually I’ll forget you even exist
Your narcissistic love shall never be missed

Gwen you say it so well and how it once was and agree with good Marion's train of thought and I'll spare you details suffice to say it wasn't pleasant or civil.
Thanks for telling how it is Gwen and things change over time and change thankfully for the better.  Love's small tender mercies gratefully received.❤️

Aah Shaun you are delving back into my past poems. Thank you ever so much :)
Yes I have learnt love comes in many guesses. This particular type I like to avoid. Wasn’t pleasant. But sadly I fear you understand that dear friend. I am glad you got away 💛
