Poem -

Cry like a baby

Cry like a baby

I see my little boy in a dream
Standing at the altar
And his face looks so happy
With joy and a little shy laughter

And he looks so handsome
Just standing there
in his black suit and light-yellow tie
with his long shoulder length hair

And standing there next to him
Was a beautiful girl wearing his ring
And the way that she looked at him
I can tell that she truly loves him

And he was happy at last
My precious little boy was happy at last
The sad and lonely lost little boy
Was now just a memory in the past

And now here he was
He was in love and getting married
And after they exchange their wedding vow
And they kissed and we all clapped and cheered

then my son said to me
don’t worry dad, I'm happy now
and then he hugged me and we both cried
as the music starts to play

He was dancing to the music
And just having the time of his life
Ready to journey into the future
With his beautiful wife

and as I look at my son
and his new bride on the dance floor
I thank god for making him happy
And I stood there just looking at him

He has been through so much in his life
And now he was not alone anymore
And it looks like God has finally smiled at him
And send happiness to knock on his door

But then the alarm went off
And It wakes me up
And this all was just a dream
My little boy happiness was just a dream

My boy was fast asleep in his bed
And he was still alone
And the world he lives in
Was still his unhappy place?

And I sat down on his bed
And the tears come to my eyes
I didn’t know what to do
So, I just cry, I cry like a baby

I wish if it was real
But it was just a dream
So, I just sat there crying
As my little boy sleeps

I don’t know what to do now
So, I just sat there by him
like I did so many times before
building the courage to face another day

they said that when the sun shines
that it shines for all
but in some people’s world
the sun never shines at all

for that brief moment in my dream
I see the life that my little boy would never have
And as I pull the cover over him
I just sat there crying, crying like a baby

I wish I was a better father
I wish I could work miracles
I would make my little boy smile again
And forget all his troubles

I wish if it was real
But it was just a dream
Water under the bridge
Running away from the stream

Although I’m losing faith
I can never give up trying
Tomorrow is another day
Got to wipe my tears and go again

I know I got to be strong
Can’t let him see me this way
So, in the morning will dry my eye
And face another day

I see my little boy in a dream
Standing at the altar
And his face looks so happy
With joy and a little shy laughter

And he looks so handsome
Just standing there
in his black suit and light-yellow tie
with his long shoulder length hair
