CRYING A RIVER

CRYING A RIVER

Crying a river, salty tears start to flow
like a sad films ending,of desolate sorrow
Tears are beautiful they show how we feel
whatever the situation, happy sad or surreal

We cry in love in loss, in hurt and in pain
tears cleanse the soul without cutting a vein
Happy laughing smiling, in joy we cry
our emotions on show trickling, from eye

A man will try hard not to show his tears
suggested he is`nt a man if he shows his fears
Fear not Sir, I like to see how you react
if your sad or upset, don`t hold them tears back

Embrace your masculinity, let yourself weep
us women prefer to see tears, shows your not deep
So to all, cry like a river or like the pitter patter of rain
hold in no tears they are our release, making us humane

Hi  Cherie Your comments are always spot on,
the heart of what I write. Yes I believe to cry is the
bodies natural release of emotion showing truth
and feelings felt, for women and men it is what make us human
Thank you for your comments always appreciated my friend

Yes! Men who allow themselves to weep is a beautiful sight, even if it's not in a happy situation. It shows how much more in tuned to their emotions they are and they aren't scared to hold back. Crying isn't a weakness. I cry, happy and sad. More often then I'd like but after a good long cry I always feel better, like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Lovely write, I enjoyed it immensely, especially after I had a good long cry right before I read it.

Hi Lily I agree with you totally that men who cry
are not showing weakness, the exact opposite in fact
Tears also flow freely for me whatever
the situation I can be very emotional.
I hope after you cried you felt better Lily, Hugs
Thank you for your comments I appreciate them
Best wishes Debs x

I hope in a good way
I think you are a man who shows emotion
without fear, you only have to read your
poetry to see that, I  have admiration for
any man who is comfortable showing emotion/tears

This is a really superb piece my Debs and so well written and well thought out too. Even though my Geoff is a hulking great big beast of a man, he`s a real big softy and he shows his emotions whether happy or sad and that`s what I love about him, I`ve even seen him tear up at a sad charity advert or a romantic or sad film!! The poems on here have the floodgates open quite often for me and I`ve even cried at some of my own sad ones when I edit them and realize what I`ve written because I write exactly what I feel just as you do. When we cry our brain releases the hormone serotonin which is what we call the feelgood hormone and it is the bodies way of releasing all our pent up emotions naturally, so it is the best thing we can do for ourselves when our emotions are up or down! Well done for this one sweetie, it is a superb piece and a great read for everyone.

Love G xx

Hi Dear Debs,

As you know, I have cried "oceans" of tears for my dearly departed Nico.  A man who cannot cry is not complete.  A man who cannot cry, has a hardened soul.  A man who cannot cry has no love in his heart. So cry us a droplet, cry us a pond, cry us a river.  Let your emotions respond.  Only then, will you be a total man.

Hugs, Peace and Love,

xox Larry
