DAMNED IN DARKNESS

DAMNED IN DARKNESS
Darkness falls upon the city
It’s like a shroud slowly descending
Whoever is out there I will pity
For evil prowls without befriending
Darkness swallows up the night sky
Stars get lost not seen again
Evil stalks so many will die
As madness gets to feed in vain
All around cities are frozen
In the clutch, the grip of fear
Locked in houses some are dozing
Praying that no harm comes near
Time runs out; dawn is approaching
Darkness slithers just to hide
Daylight returns to the city
To bury those that might have died…

Wow Brenda, I felt the temperature in my office drop by a few degrees while reading this, what a tone you put down on paper; turning darkness into a character; some sort of avenging angel it seems...it's a very fresh and interesting take on horror, deep dark delicious chocolate ice cream cake poem...now I have to go outside, yikes!....cheers Giggles
