Dancing in the frozen food aisle

Dancing in the frozen food aisle

It was just another long and boring Monday
Dreaming she was on a beach somewhere far away
Trying to stay awake while to a co-worker she did tell
Her thought of the day which was, “I bet they have desks in hell”
But she is pretty sure that on the day she does die
She will go up to heaven and live on a cloud in the sky
Where she will be reunited with the love of her life
But just then she hears that song when she just became a wife
She is dancing in the frozen food aisle
And on her face she has a smile
And even if for a short while
She is as happy as can be
And she dances with his memory
And even if her shopping cart is empty
Tonight her heart is full inside Joe’s Grocery

With her eyes closed and while dancing beside the ice cream
She goes back to that day when everything was just a dream
Her friends and her family and her handsome husband to be
Her beautiful dress of white with all of that Cinderella beauty
And at the reception it was a photograph everybody did take
Especially when she missed his mouth when feeding him cake
But during the dance she gave out a laugh at this man she chose
To be her husband as he kept nervously stepping on her toes
She is dancing in the frozen food aisle
And on her face she has a smile
And even if for a short while
She is as happy as can be
And she dances with his memory
And even if her shopping cart is empty
Tonight her heart is full inside Joe’s Grocery

Because after the honeymoon he began to look quite sickly
He kept saying, “It will be okay and I will soon recover quickly”
But all he did was lay in bed as she kept from him the answer
To his question concerning his illness because it was terminal cancer
But every day until his final day he gave her all of his love
Just before that day when an angel came and took him up above
But now his spirit has flown back down to earth from heaven
And now he is dancing with her in the middle of aisle eleven
She is dancing in the frozen food aisle
And on her face she has a smile
And even if for a short while
She is as happy as can be
And she dances with his memory
And even if her shopping cart is empty
Tonight her heart is full inside Joe’s Grocery
