Dark

He was chained to his transgressions. He could not escape the evils he had done. The shadows lurked around him, waiting to strike if he made any attempt to escape, and if the darkness made its move, he made no attempt to resist.Nameless was he.  Does it really matter? He hadn't seen another person in years, let alone made any sort of human or social contact. The darkness was his only companion, but a better term for that would be his keeper, his master, his captor.He was trapped in a world of mind games and lies. He could not get out. A ray of sunshine broke through the clouds and shone on him, but he cowered under the presence of what is good. He could not turn back. In his eyes, he deserved the torment he had subjected himself to.The self-imposed exile was agonizing, but it was the only option he would accept, nothing more, nothing less.   He closed his eyes and, for the first time in years, breathed a sigh of relief as the shadows welcomed him, devouring everything in his essence
