Dark girl

That's the thing,
breath too deep,
look too hard,
there will be pain,
one moment too long,
a look of longing,
a catch in the throat,
a loss for words,
a moment that can't be spoken,
a momentum,
happiness,
then sadness,
not overwhelmed,
but underwhelmed,
like a vine around my ankle,
tug,
tug,
a call from the deep,
I now refuse to answer.
A call from the dark,
to the girl in the spotlight,
edges fuzz away,
a little light goes a long way,
swallowed,
lost,
but not forgotten,
the memory can be revived,
brought back,
put back together,
stronger than ever,
cracked,
not broken,
a girl with hope,
a brave smile,
a slight twist,
a thousand tiny tears,
to hold the seams together.
A girl made of damage,
can only mean hope,
can only hold the light,
every scar,
every momentum,
all holds a dream,
a drop of white,
where once was only black.
Hope for the cold,
hope for the broken,
hope for the forgotten.
Never let got
