Poem -

you made me smile

You made me smile,
helped me breath,
made me feel,
to crack the ice of a soul,
to look within,
see the darkness,
to know me completely,
and not run away,
to find no fault,
only solutions.
You made me smile,
you brought that spark,
I thought I'd lost,
lighten my load,
hold my hand,
bring me forth into the light,
you so perfect,
so whole,
so right,
and so knowing.
You made me smile,
you brought me out of that black,
guided me,
helped me to learn,
what no one would teach me,
let me trust in myself,
you guide me even now,
with your hope,
I hold on.
You made me smile,
now,
I continue to build,
to break free,
to prove myself worthy of the love you gave me,
and to one day,
one amazing day,
be worthy again,
maybe just a hope,
just a dream,
but you're the best thing I ever had,
and you're the best thing about me.
