Dark places of the Earth

Dark places of the Earth

Inquisitive of the macabre,
The surreal of a different plane,
Tales of abstruse and anomalous,
Wraiths on foreign terrain.
Β
Dark and aberrant captivate,
Supernatural enthrals me,
Sinister occurrences,
Inexplicable calls to me.
Β
Spontaneous combustion,
Paranormal enigma,
Mysterious disappearances,
Religious of stigma.
Β
Tales of haunted castles,
Poltergeists in grim,
Curse and superstitions,
Demonic stench and brim.
Β
Fear and intrigue,
Sceptical of some,
I ponder the wonders,
To nonsensical I succumb.

I enjoyed this read!
I also am enchanted by sirens of the dark, though I must admit I only delve from the safety of my chair behind my homes locked door.

One of the reasons why you are one of my favourite poets, Simon, is because I learn a few new words every time I read one of your poems!
You have an amazing collection of vocabulary and you sure know how to use them well :)
