DARK POND

Spring water runs clear, cool, and slow
o'er black-green moss, like slick wet fur
           drips down the rocky face

Dripping from the rocky falls
to tinkle rings upon the pond
green flowers float, too young to bloom
          upon the rippled light

                Reflect the sky
          blue canvassed clouds
       the pocked green rocky cliff
Trees dark arrows in the dusk
         face hidden in the shadows
long hanging hair, like wet black moss
          lies broken on the pond

            Too young to bloom
            green flowers float
          upon the rippled light
