Darkness

Eyes unable to focus,
Walking into darkness,
Feelings of an evil presence,
Hairs standing up in coldness.

Air becomes unbreathable,
Weight bearing down apon you,
Any minute I am a goner,
Something feels askew.

Fluttering heard above,
Eyes are still unfocused,
Head darting around unseeing,
Way too big to be locust.

Bracing yourself for impact,
Heart racing and pounding in turn,
Don't go walking into darkness,
A lesson one needs to learn.

Bright lights flood your path,
Nothing in sight, no sound,
It seems it was all in my head,
No clues to the noises are found.
