Poem -

Dear Diary…

The silence weighs heavy against my chest
While my thoughts are nothing more than a swirl
Like the leaves of Autumn
Caught in a restless wind.
I am here,
But I am not present.
I am a living body,
But all is numb.
My heart aches,
Yearning for light and just a sliver of hope.
I have been drowning in my own misery
Unable to get to safety,
Yet no one noticed.
Numbness;
It is a pain that is there,
But also missing.
This feeling is found nowhere,
Yet I feel it everywhere.
