A Marriage

A Marriage

We met under a shower of stars,
Illuminations that had nothing on her beauty.

Our first kiss was with our eyes
Intimacy with just a stare,
I was holding her with my gaze
She was returning the warmth with hers.

It was a conversation that needed no words
She was young;
Beautiful art brought to life
A masterpiece you are blessed to lay eyes upon.

It has been forty years
Hushed conversations still the same,
I knew she was the one the second our eyes found each other
From being nothing to each other's everything.

She is still the one,
But now she's the one who looks down on me
As I look up
And still manage to relive our first kiss.
