Dear John,

When I vowed to put you
before all others,
I meant every word.
When you earned a little trust,
I gave you all.
When you asked for a family,
I did my best,
to give you
the very best.Â
And they are!
When you earned my disdain,
I showed you compassion.
When your words made no sense,
I still took your word,
filled in the darkened blanks,
and thought the best of you.
When you trampled and killed
my dignity and honor,
I still show you honor,
for our kidsâ sakes.
I gave you my love unconditionally,
And Iâll never take it back,
But that doesnât mean
I could be yours again, ever!
You may think Iâm a fool,
But I know much better.
You may think I owe you,
and I do,
but lucky for you,
but thatâs a debt
that never will
be repaid.

Thank you Mr. Correia! Â All of your kind words cheer me, but your second comment stands out -- loudly. Â "Calculating without being cruel" tells me you 'got' the shielded message! :) Â Â Thank you again!
