Deck of Life
Fear trumps all
in a bitter game of poker.
Minds of a different suit
provoking matters at hand.
Numbers mean nothing when
emotion overpowers logic.
Fifty-two soldiers standing
frozen at attention.
Never knowing when war will ensue.
