Declaration of Love Part four: The Declaration

Though those words stung my soul;
my love never faded.
I chose my own path
and my actions were selfish.
I chose my own path
and you paid the price.
I have seen your pain,
your misery,
your guilt and confusion.
Please know that I’m sorry
and please know I don’t blame you.
Please know that I miss you
and please know I still cry.
Please know I still dream
of all our passionate nights.
And above all this…
please know I still love you.
With one moment in time
both our lives changed.
And if I could turn back time;
I would stand my ground a face you like a man.
If I could rewrite that moment;
I would suffer through my own insecurities.
And even though my actions cannot be undone;
I now speak from the heart
and through the mouth of a man.
A child’s response is what allowed me to flee.
An insecure man is what I once was.
A child’s decision changed both of our lives.
And through the eyes of a weak man;
I never realized the strength, honesty, and faith of your love.
Please,
do not live without love,
and do not live within guilt.
Please treasure our time;
but move forward in life.
Remember our love;
but never fear loving another.
Please treasure our time, this moment and these words;
Whispered from my heart, my soul, and my love;
these words are my declaration of love.
