Depression Won Her Over

Depression Won Her Over

She took a deep breath,
She counted to ten
A picture in her head,
Of what they wanted her to be.

They wanted her to be fun, Happy and kind.
They never thought,
That this girl would be blind.
Not blind in the eyes,
But blind in the heart.
Blinded by darkness,
Her life is too dark.
She walks around lifeless,
Her heart rotten and dead.
A walking corpse
she is very lost inside her head.

Things have no meaning,
At least not anymore.
She was not being herself,
Now she’s worse than before.
She is not one of the living
But one of the dead.
A part of her is missing.
She hangs on by a tiny thread.

And then she smiled
With a little glow,
And an hour later her arms are numb,

She’s saying “I’m so done.”
And then depression finally won.

a solid write, Kolbie, painting a picture of a dark place....good tone construction, clever storytelling that sounds organic and not moronic, good job with a difficult subject...

(ps. not sure what the above comment is trying to say, but it reeks of desperation, just saying).
