Descent

Musty room at bottom ofΒ stair,
Shivers for creepy crawlies there.
Spiders, beetles, silverfish,
An entomologist's fondest wish.
A specter with phobia intact,
Wishing for existence back.
A second chance to do it again,
Regrets found at journey's end.
Creaks loud at the descent,
Too late to repent.
Concrete floor opens wide,
Showing spiral stairs inside.
Stifling the scream,
At the oily stream.
Creepy crawlies pour,
From the crack on the floor.
Welcome wagon's wishing well,
For the descent to hell.
