Death & Despair

Death & Despair

Death and despair,
Heavenly lies,
You pay the price of silvery lies,

To die or to cry,
Whichever you try,
Will never take you to the sky,

The dark roads you've crossed,
The comrades you've lost,
Prove past is yet not forgiven.

The lies you have told,
Will one day unfold,
Haunting the living.

So whichever you choose,
Make sure you don't lose,
Your life's true precision,
Make the decision,
Life's well worth living.

Well, well, Excel (notice the impromptu rhyming there, heh-heh?)
A poem right up my dark alley—after my own blackened heart.
I like that...
Death, depression and deep, dire despair...what more could anyone ask for in a poem?
I more often than not choose to write dark poetry. And while I sometimes take a lotta flak for doing so, you gotta remain true to yourself, yes?
Excellent first entry.

Thank you very much for the warm welcome. I'm looking forward to staying here and writing more poems. Indeed it's about staying true to ourselves. Poetry is my new essence of life.
