DETERMINED DREAMER
I begin again
Sailing on a boat of broken dreams
So much that was never done
So many sights that were never seen
So many ideas never pursued
So many hopes crushed to the ground
So many wishful thoughts
That were dropped and never found
So many visions that got faded
Many bright light bulb ideas that broke
That's what happens when your dreams are invaded
By eroding thoughts that people spoke
The doubt comes first
And then you give into believing a lie
That your dreams are impossible; improbable unpractical
Then its dust because you never once dared to try
That's how some people get satisfied;
Erasing hopes that once brightly shown
They try to justify;
But in truth its because they lost a dream of their own.
This is not to discourage you - that's not the intent of my appellation
It's not to divert you from your wonder
Simply a hope that you get a new found appreciation
For your own and others dreams and their possible destination
That's what dreams are truly about
It's about the outcome - your final goal
Go whole hardheartedly
But don't lose your soul
Remember the reason for your dream
That was whispered into you one night
The best dreams are filled with love
And created for making souls light
I'm assuming your in the same place I am
Stuck in a "safe place" stalling the process for as long as you can
Because before success
failure's often the leading man
Hard for your mind to escape
The fear of taking a leap of faith
Into the stars and into the unknown
Resulting in your aspirations shape
That will become it's very own
A dream can only become more
If you take a step beyond the shore
Action is when your dream becomes reality
Until then its an idea that's only a possibility
Once you jump into the ocean and dive deep
There is no way you won't succeed

This is a kind-hearted, well intended and very nicely written piece of inspirational poetry.
In the opening verses, some of the imagery is rather forlorn and dark; but then the clouds part and the sun of your infectious optimism shines through and the reader is left feeling that little bit better about herself by the end.
Beautifully done!!
In response, I can only quote Samuel Beckett: "Ever tried? Ever failed? No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better."

Thankyou so much for your delightfully detailed comment.
It means a lot to me that you saw the darker to the lighter on the poem as that's a lot of what I'm about. I believe in not shying away from the real ness but doing so in a way that can lead to a brighter conclusion. Thankyou for seeing that in this. Also Thankyou for quote it fits with my poem beautifully!
