Dialysis

Tempus fugit stamped on many a ticking clock
As ever a truism we laugh and we mock
As teens we are going to go on forever
In mid fifties and approacing stormy weather
Health always an issue focuses the minds eye
transplant slowly failing do my best to try
And focus on the now but with each passing year
And That day drawing ever nearer
Acutely aware of the hell that is dialysis
Keeps one alive but no way is it living you cuss
Two yrs i waited on that macine every other day
No escape a prison without bars far from ok
I thank the person who was so altruistic
given a new lease for the last 20 yrs terrific
Family say well he is a fighter full of admiration
What they mean is glad they,ve not had that condition
