Did you like it?

Did you like it?
When I was always there,
I showed in more ways than one that I care,
But still you stood there,
Left me with my heart stripped bare.

Did you like it?
I did everything to bring back your smile,
I always went the full mile,
Next thing I know being faithful is out of style,
Makes me think, is it really worthwhile?

Did you like it?
Seeing that look in my eyes,
Hearing the replies,
But no surprise,
Little did you know it was all a disguise.

Did you like it?
Seeing it on the news the next day,
That morning in May,
I already knew what you were going to say,
Nothing,
you’d stand there like clay.

Did you like it?
You go to your phone and notice the missed call,
As a friend you really dropped the ball,
You lay on the floor and bawl,
But did you even care at all?

Did you like it?
Remembering all those times I was there,
But you never thought to care,
You look to the front at the empty chair,
And go through the hall with a blank stare.

Did you like it?
Remember being best friends when we were three?
Remember when we climbed that big tree?
Remember when you broke your knee?
Remember when no one was there but Me.

Did you like it?
Sitting in the cafeteria, and how it sounded like you were undersea,
Knowing they were all talking about me,
Then you hear someone shout out with glee,
“Who was she?”

Did you like it?
Knowing I was the one person you really talked to,
I always listened to you,
You didn’t have a clue,
But deep down, you knew.

Did you like it?
You did nothing but think,
Our lives are like pens and mine is out of ink,
Everything starts to shrink,
and your thoughts spin like going down the kitchen sink.

Did you like it?
