Disappointment

Anxiously waiting with high expectation
  restless and giddy from anticipation
only to come to the realization
that unmet desires led to frustration
We can whine, we can cry, we can gripe and complain
we can sulk,  we can pout and show our disdain
Or just be content and stop feeling cheated
and be grateful to have all that is needed
Disappointment can be a double edge sword
it may bring resentment, it may bring reward
be optimistic and reflect what's been gained
for perseverance and patience have been attained
