Disingenuous

Disingenuous

We're all supposed to be genuine but we're not,
we're meant to be true but then we forgot
how to behave - rather put ourselves first,
and when caught out, launch a feeble outburst.

Who may be the truest person that you know?
Mother, father or a person that goes: 'Ho, ho, ho?'
Someone said that 'they' were one hundred per cent,
not possible, only God knows what's been heaven sent.

Only I know what's within me, nobody else does,
not commendable, we're made that way because
God gave us all free will, like forever yet until,
only he, ( not she ) says otherwise when we're still.

But lo, I found someone, no nasty little secrets,
they turned out to be the one that makes sunsets.

Jim "The Lad" ....

Hi Terry ! sorry, hope you don't think I am disingenuous for voting and moving on, but I want to give credit as soon as I can and then ponder the write before I ever comment,if I do. My whole reason for reading poetry is that it is short and gives me time to ponder. If we ponder, or "meditate" on what we read asking the HG to attend us while doing so, that would be the highest form of learning! I do ponder your cool writes! all the best!......Jim

Being Me

There are a lot of extremely disingenuous people about!  I always do my best to be honest. I like to give credit where credit is due. I have met too many people who have two faces and I would hate to be like that. Glad you found a genuine person to love. Great poem x
