As Do I

A valiant rose does sprout from the ground
Its leaves up high
Being blown by the wind
Absent of sound
Hauled from the dirt and trapped in a vase
As its colours fade to brown
Slowly dying away
Top to bottom, peak to base
As do I
A chivalrous tree grasps tightly to dirt
Hurricane pulls strongly
Yet tree remains
Through all the hurt
But poison fills the air in vain
And its colors fade to brown
Gradually disappearing
All in all, with nothing to gain
As do I
A courageous bird flies proudly through the sky
Looking down at the earth below
Watching and listening and trying to understand
Why the world is filled with goodbyes
As life thrives and then perishes away
As their colors fade to brown
Inching towards death
And starts again another day
As do I

A very intense piece. you rise you fall yet you start again just as you do....in life.

Thank you both so much! Your comments mean a lot :)
Beautifully written Stephen. Has a really sad tone to it, the comparisons you make are striking and deeply thought provoking. The repetition works so well, a great piece. Loved it, would have nominated had it not been out of the month and 5 big *s. Quality write!:)
It means a lot to hear your feedback thank you very much! Nature makes a great metaphor :P Wish I could've got your nomination, but maybe I can for the month of May :) best wishes!
Wow this is a great poem! Very thought-provoking.
I still think you deserve 5 more stars on this one! Thanks for sharing!
