DOGMEAT

Squashed into cages
Steel wire cold
One top another
Nobody to hold
As in terror they shake
And in horror they quake
No hope of rescue
A barbaric fate
Skin stripped off backs
Paws hacked off too
Slow release to death
They scream out to you
Beaten and broken
Blowtorched alive
Hard
To bear witness
The horror, the cries
But my eyes they have seen
And my ears they have heard
The keening of souls
Dispatched in such fear
Such an ache in my heart
God...the hurt in their eyes
And through ruby red tears
Iv willed them to die
But
It has not gone unnoticed
Will not go untold
Midst the secrets and lies
I swear to be bold
I will shout from the rooftops
And scream in the streets
And march for the sad ones
Who are just
Dogmeat.

I can't like your poem..as I am crying with it..my heart cries for them too..horrible people..they also ate their own dead in years gone by..and their children..such is hunger..for meat. I think they like it. poor doggies..
That's fine Pauline, this is a common reaction, it upsets us all, that is why awareness is key in trying to change things. No action...no change. There is much being fone worldwide in all mediums to try and change things for these tortured souls. I am part of this movement and I understand totally how upsetting it is...but what spurs me on is ...it's far more upsetting for the animals enduring daily torture. Thankyou for your comments and feedback and the crying...that was my intention. ?
