Doing A Jim Morrison

Some say
using profanity
in poetry
is not needed
unwarranted
and is not
appreciated
To
The
Virgin Ears
that never
watched
the tube
and
believe
the Chasity
belt
should
be
used
metaphorically
in written
verse
As the Late
Jim pulled
his WANKER
out in Miami
During
the spring
of 69
I do so
Proverbially
on Ink
for the
disdain
for proper
conformity
Censorship
has no
place in
free thought
and artistic
creativity
It is funny
how
Critics
selectively
choose
what offends
them
Offensive words
on paper
cause
their ears
to bleed
Yet going
to a new
Mission Impossible
movie
is okay
as they
try to make
you believe
they
"Tune Out"
words they
find unacceptable
If we allowed
our
own sense
of morality
to dictate
others
artistic
expression
then the works
of
JD Salinger
Ann Sexton
and Ernest Hemmingway
would
have been lost
in the wind.....
In An Erect
position
I salute you.............................................

LA woman was the first album I ever had and that was by accident. My dad had been in LA for work and when he cam back he had remembered a present for my mum and my brother but he'd forgotten me. He had however bought himself a copy (original pressing) of LA woman. My mum gave him a look. He gave me the album and then he had to buy me a record player. Rock n Roll ever since.

I am a big fan of Jim. I use to only write poetry that Rhymed. However after reading Jim's work he totally changed me in to how I express myself. He has had a big influence,
Same as Greg and I was 5 when dad had to give me the record (Not appropriate I know but it was probably the start of who I'd become) . My dad loved all music apart from Wagner. I don't really understand it but all the music I heard growing up has always lived with me and yet it never really registered with either of my siblings. Thank you Jim.
