AS DOLLS

Tiredness touched the forehead on the table
But him startled the call
From the kitchen;
His mother it was , not for tea and snacks,
But him to remind ,
To 'read' and 'read' !
From out the sound of the car ,
With full dress , suitcase still in hand ,
Father - way straight to the boy's room !
'Your home work completed' ?
Before an answer comes ,
'Just do it' , 'now itself'' !
Distant jubilant voices of children
Sharpen the brightness of the evening ,
'Do they call me' ? 'no , they won't' ,
A sigh , deep , from within !
Innocent look has turned the smile frozen
Has eyes but dim to look ,
Heaviness him sinks the heart down
As bundles of books block the walk straight !
Has he become a doll
Lying on a baby's lap.
Watch everything around,
But dump to speak !
