Don’t Leave Me

Don’t leave me now my angel; please say that it’s not true;

For I don’t think I can e’er survive, without the love of you!

I’m addicted to your kisses, and your tender loving touch;

Without them I will wither, for I love you oh so much!

I got you as a puppy, then you grew into a man;

The best friend that I’ve ever known, please stay longer if you can!

It’s too early that I lose you; I need a few more years;

Please tell me you can stay here, and alleviate my fears!

I know this was not your choice, for if you’d had your way;

You’d stay with me forever, and never go away!

But I’m watching as you suffer, and start to lose your fight;

You’ve fought all day so bravely, but now it’s turned to night!

I lay you down so gently, as you close your eyes to rest;

I kiss you on your pom pom, and tell you you’re the best!

A little while later, you travel very far;

My angels’ had to leave me, and float up to the stars!
